Angel at the front desk was nice when I told her about my complaints, but her manager never responded. I emailed twice and still got no reply or even basic courtesy. I stayed at OYO for five nights, and the experience was disappointing and left me feeling unwelcome and disrespected. No one told me at check-in that room cleaning had to be requested. During those five days, the trash wasn't taken out, towels weren't changed, and no water was replaced. My room door was already open when I arrived and didn't lock properly. I was too tired to go downstairs then. Later, the desk said guests who felt unsafe could ask to change rooms, but I think I should have been told about the faulty lock beforehand and asked if I was okay with it. The Wi-Fi was extraordinarily bad. I understand airport-area signals can be affected, but I had an important meeting Tuesday night and went to the desk for help. The women there said that was the only Wi-Fi available without even looking at me. There was no apology or sympathy, and I felt deeply disrespected. I ended up doing my Zoom meeting beside the casino machines on the first floor. My clients even joked that Motel 6 had better Wi-Fi. I was angry that the desk didn't properly help me. I wish the OUO manager would respond and at least explain what happened instead of ignoring it.
The waitresses, dealers, and casino staff were good, and our room had a strip view. It was interesting to watch them build the baseball stadium, though the construction started early in the morning. They don't work on weekends, at least on Saturday. Free water every day would be nice if they actually gave it to you, and the front desk staff were so rude that getting help was a struggle. My dad was dying and we needed to leave early, which made the whole experience extremely horrible. There were also problems in the room: the bathroom door wouldn't close, the bathroom light kept tripping the outlet, and the shower light came on for only about ten seconds over three days. There was coc@in on the nightstand. Update after their comment: I did contact management while we were there and was told to email pictures, but nobody replied. I called and got hung up on more than once. On another call, I was told it would be looked into. I'm willing to try emailing again at the new address.
The beds were the one decent part of the room, though each had only two flat pillows. On our quick Vegas weekend, the room didn't seem clean, the AC smelled awful, and the elevators were completely unreliable. The building and rooms reeked of cigarettes even though smoking isn't allowed. Service was okay at first, but when we asked for fresh towels, we got attitude and were told to call from the room. We did, then had to call again after waiting twenty minutes because they had forgotten. I'd suggest staying somewhere else until this place is remodeled.
The location was good, and the staff helped us by bringing a rollaway bed to each of our two rooms. After that, though, things went badly. We paid more than $300 in security deposits, and none of it was returned. There was no damage or other reason to keep the money. I’ve contacted the company several times, but each call turns into a runaround: sometimes I’m transferred to a phone line no one answers, and sometimes to an automated system that can’t help. A front desk employee said they only handle current or future reservations, not past ones. We booked and paid through Airbnb. Oyo says it can’t locate the reservation using the Airbnb confirmation number, the confirmation codes I later got from the host, our last name, or even the credit card they charged. Yet the front desk found it easily when we checked in and paid the deposits. Headquarters in New York also said they couldn’t find it by our names. They offered no solution, and when I asked for a manager, they refused to transfer me, saying it was against policy. It’s been a very frustrating experience, and they seem short-staffed and uninterested in fixing it.
The $5 Blackjack tables with 3-to-2 payouts were a nice surprise, especially since those rules are getting harder to find on the Strip. The location worked well too, close to MGM and an easy walk to plenty of Strip spots, but away from the crowds and higher prices right in the middle of it. Our room was clean, comfortable, and better than expected for the price. It wasn’t fancy, just solid and well kept. Anthony at the front desk made the stay especially good. He was straightforward and helpful every time we spoke, answered our questions, and gave us tips about the area since it was our first time staying here. We’d happily come back.
