I landed in Las Vegas for a 13½-hour layover and found out my reservation had been canceled, even though I’d booked weeks earlier to get a reasonable rate and hadn’t canceled it. After calling back for help, the man who answered was rude and hung up on me. The first person I spoke with had been somewhat polite. When I called again, he said the cancellation couldn’t be reversed and I’d have to contact customer service. By then, room rates had jumped to over $200, leaving me stranded and trying to find somewhere to stay. Things can happen, but staff need to handle them with care. This showed very little professionalism or concern for guests.

A good option if you’re staying in Vegas for more than a few days. The location is handy for shopping, restaurants, the airport, rental cars, and the Strip. The rooms were clean and well kept, with the basic things you’d want in a residence. I even made a full breakfast each morning. Staff were friendly and took care of needs right away. Five stars all around.

My only disappointment was the $20 nightly parking charge. It felt unnecessary and overpriced. Otherwise, I had a great stay: the staff were friendly, professional, and always ready to help, and the location made it easy to get around Las Vegas and reach the airport. My room was spacious, spotless, and quiet.

I like Residence Inns in general because they’re good value, and this one lived up to that. The rooms are large, parking is ample, and there’s even a heated outdoor pool. It’s close to the airport and outlet mall, and near enough to the Strip without the hassle of staying in central Las Vegas.

I was considering this hotel for the weekend, but then my wife showed me a review about a woman whose flight was canceled and who needed a room for a few hours. The hotel couldn’t accommodate her, and she asked to cancel and get a refund. The General Manager, Damion Ford, reportedly ignored her for about five days, then refused the refund because she had left a bad review and hung up before she could respond. I’ve been in a similar position, urgently booking a hotel after a flight cancellation just to get some sleep. I can’t imagine the frustration of having nowhere to sleep but an airport floor, then dealing with a manager who showed no compassion or urgency in finding a solution. Hanging up because you dislike a customer’s review seems weak, and Marriott should think carefully about who it puts in these roles. If you want people to say good things, treat them well. This place seems to put customers last. Pathetic. ***Updated question**** I wonder if Marriott resolved this with the customer or if that coward of a general manager ever apologized.
