Lauderdale Villas, Suites by the Sea

The pool is heated, and the rooms are clean, nice suites with a separate bedroom plus a full kitchen, dining area, and living room. The bathroom tile is beautiful, whoever did it deserves 10 thumbs up. It’s within walking distance of the beach and all the restaurants. We definitely recommend it!

Our last-minute girls trip turned out amazing at this hidden gem. Management was accommodating and often available onsite whenever we needed anything. The clean one-bedroom villa worked perfectly for three women to sleep. We met new friends who loved staying here too. It felt safe, and I’m looking forward to bringing my kids next time. Thanks for the hospitality!

The owner was in Seattle and seemed more inclined to blame us or the guests before us than apologize. After arrival, we found out someone had been allowed into our unit before our stay to use the shower and bathroom. The manager said she couldn’t believe they’d turned the place upside down, and the owner said someone had been paid to clean afterward, but I don’t believe that happened. We found dried food in the oven that looked old, along with someone else’s prescription bottle, and wondered whether the unit had been cleaned at all. The kitchen also wasn’t stocked as advertised, not even with a basic frying pan. There were exposed wires where an outlet cover had broken off, a concern with small children. The patio table was held together by one leg. While we were sitting there, a Florida department of health worker came to test the pool and closed it because swimming conditions were unsafe and the filter pump hadn’t been maintained. On the third night, the air conditioner kept cycling on and off. The property manager didn’t answer when we called. The owner said he couldn’t find anyone to look at it at 7:30 at night and rudely told us to try the breaker. We’d raised these issues with both the owner and manager several times, but neither did anything about them. For the price, the unit seemed fair at first, but on closer inspection it was not a good experience. Be careful booking, because you may not get what’s advertised.

The pool was inviting, and we didn’t really need to bring anything with us. The space isn’t fancy, but it’s clean, laid out well, and in a great part of town, close to everything from Wilton Manors to the downtown club scene. With a full kitchen, you could save money by buying groceries and making your own meals.
