Our corner suite had views of the river and pool, and the room itself was fantastic. The hallway looked pretty beat up, so we were pleasantly surprised. Staff are very nice, the hotel is fine overall, and the few places to eat are fine too. For a charter flight and four nights in a room, it works perfectly well, and people shouldn’t complain so much. They clearly want guests to stay in the casinos, but the area needs more things to do. It’s kind of boring, and we’d come back more often if there were more options.

All my other interactions were top notch, including the flight and the welcome when we arrived. The three stars are because of front desk clerk Alex. Our booking was for a river-view king, but we were given a king room facing the parking lot, which was actually pretty at dusk. The woman at the desk seemed confused by what she saw on the screen and called Alex over. He made me feel like we were somehow lesser because we’d come on a charter. The charter was discounted, but it still cost money, as did the other travel expenses, not to mention gambling. I love to gamble and came ready to spend money here, after choosing this particular charter and casino. Maybe the next casino staff meeting should remind everyone that all guests deserve superior service, no matter how they got there. It was very disappointing to feel that way from someone who seemed to be a manager.

A casino with Smash Burgers is a win-win, or lose-win depending on your luck. There’s plenty of good food and things to do, so you can make a lot of your visit without leaving the establishment. Unless you run out of time or money, of course. It’s a blast either way.

The room we were moved to had two queen beds that were at least usable, but the drawers and furniture door were broken and wouldn’t stay shut. The way the whole situation was handled during our week there felt sad and unprofessional. We won’t stay at this hotel again. We’d expected things to be fine because the rooms were advertised as newly renovated. Instead, our first room had a king bed with an old, very soft mattress that you sank into, cracked bathroom sink and console, and filthy carpet. After a long discussion and an upcharge, we were moved to another supposedly renovated room. The stay was very disappointing.

The staff were fantastic and made the stay enjoyable, and the smash burgers were incredibly delicious. The Harrhs Laughlin resort had spacious, comfortable rooms, though I was disappointed by the AT&T singer’s presence. I couldn’t get any signal on my phone, and I suspect the area may have contributed to it.
