DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Laurel

The hotel was clean, the staff very friendly, and the workout room better than average. I liked the location, though I was there for work and can’t say what there is to do for leisure. The rooms could use updating, as could plenty of hotels these days. The breakfast buffet was one of the better ones I’ve had recently.

Natacha and her team at the Hilton DoubleTree Hotel Laurel made this a great stay. She was welcoming from the moment I arrived, and her kindness, professionalism, and genuine care showed in every detail. It’s rare to find someone so committed to good service. Natacha represents the best of the Hilton DoubleTree brand, and I hope management recognizes her work. People like her are what bring guests back.

The workers were nice and accommodating, but this hotel is old and run down and needs remodeling or rebuilding. There were cracks and peeling paint throughout the rooms, water damage in the bathroom, and gross shag-like carpet. I had to switch rooms because mold in the bathroom was triggering an allergic reaction. Don’t stay in 105.

I’m so frustrated with this stay that I’ll never come back to this hotel, and I’ll probably avoid Doubletree if I can. My daughter has an early softball tournament, and after a terrible night of sleep we hoped to be in bed by 9 or 9:30. Instead, the hotel approved a loud teenage dance party in the main atrium, right by the rooms, even though it has several ballrooms. I asked the manager about it, and at first he said he’d get them to stop by 9 or 9:30 at the latest. When I checked again around 9:10, he said it would go until 10. Those kids were so wound up that I expected another night of noise. The night before, teenagers in the room above us had been jumping on their beds and jolting me awake whenever I fell asleep. It finally stopped at 12:30 am, so I hadn’t complained then. There was also a raging party right outside my doorway close to 10 pm tonight. I asked to switch rooms, but the manager said he couldn’t help. When I asked about a refund for the bad stay, he said he was helpless. The management feels careless and unable to address the problem. I may contact corporate about the experience.
