The owners are kind and professional, and they also run other hotels in town. Renovations have given this place new life, so the old photos here don't reflect it anymore. I'll stay again next time I pass through.

The rooms are really clean and the service is excellent. But some people come here and argue and fight so loudly! Some folks just don't know how to behave in public.

The rooms are nice, though a small upgrade here and there would help. I also wish there were coffee machines and packets in every room, and grab bars in the bathrooms for people with disabilities like me. The couple running the place are very friendly. They greet you with a smile and are happy to share restaurant tips or the hotel's history. They also don't mind helping if you have vision problems. Apart from those things, it's all very good.

It's not a five-star Hilton, but for a motel of this size and class, it's definitely near the top. Mrs June and Larry have worked hard to make the place family-friendly and keep it that way. The housekeeper is friendly and works incredibly hard to keep the rooms among the cleanest you'll find.

I've been staying in Laurens for seven weeks while working as a long-term substitute at a local school. Magnolia Inn is one of three hotels in town and gives workers like me a reasonable weekly rate. Without that, it would cost $500. My room's shower didn't work properly, so I had to move, and the room smells like weed all the time even though I don't smoke it. The housekeeper is great, but the owner tells her to turn off the air during the day. When I get back from work, the room is sweltering, and she has to clean in the heat too. The awful manager says this saves $160 a week, which is what I'd pay if I weren't a worker, but it wouldn't save that much. The manager is terrible and rude, doesn't care about complaints, and has called me a liar three times. The Internet in my room hasn't worked for three weeks, while it works in the office where her family stays. I'm writing this in the lobby because nobody has tried to fix the connection in my room. The pool hasn't opened once while I've been here, but the manager's family has been able to use it. I don't think any of Laurens's hotels are great, but Magnolia Inn might be the least bad of the three.
