Hampton Inn Laurinburg

Breakfast was convenient, if fairly basic, and the common areas could use some updating. My room at the Hampton Inn was clean and comfortable, with a bed that was fine for a night's rest. Check-in was easy and the staff were polite and helpful. There were a few minor issues, but nothing that ruined my stay. A decent, no-frills place if you want somewhere reliable to sleep.

Miss Joyce deserves a big thank you. The breakfast was fresh, delicious, and had a great variety. I'm usually not much of a breakfast person, but I filled up each morning. Everyone was so kind and made sure I had what I needed, especially during that crazy ice storm, which was why I was staying there. Thank you all for being so gracious! The room was pristine.

The first room had feces still in the toilet and hair products on the bathroom floor. In the second, there were bits of toilet paper on the floor and a damp towel behind the door. I asked the front desk to cancel my reservation. She spoke to the manager, who said he'd just inspected those rooms and refused to come see them himself. I left on my own. Nobody was aggressive, and nobody asked me to leave. The hotel's reply claiming otherwise is just a lie. Own up to the problem and fix it, then the quality can speak for itself. Take pictures, I learned that lesson. Don't stay here. Update: I find the reply hilarious. I didn't make this up, and the manager wouldn't come out of his office to see for himself.

The lobby looked nice, which made the state of the room even more disappointing. The hotel's signage and visibility are terrible. When we arrived, the desk clerk was on her phone and didn't notice us waiting, though she was very nice once she greeted us. She assigned room 102, and its door was open when we got there. The carpet looked like it hadn't been cleaned since the hotel opened, the room stank, the bathroom was dirty, wallpaper was peeling, and the ceilings were in bad shape. It was so gross we checked the beds for bedbugs. This is dated and unacceptable for Hampton Inn standards. We won't return. We're sleeping fully dressed because we don't want our skin touching the sheets.
