Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Laurinburg by IHG

The location is great, and the lobby felt fresh and welcoming. My room, though, smelled musty and the carpet felt dirty. The rooms need to be cleaner.

Quiet and clean, and they take dogs too.

The cleaning staff did a great, consistent job during my two weeks here, and the front desk was helpful. The hotel feels cozy, the heating and AC work really well, and the free Wi-Fi was more than enough for gaming. I liked the automatic pancake maker at breakfast, though the rest was just okay. It's a decent, clean hotel and better than a motel, but not the place for a flawless or romantic getaway. Our tub didn't drain properly the first night, though they fixed it quickly, and the wallpaper is peeling around the shower. I don't mind a few signs of age, but if you do, look elsewhere. My company chose this place for room and board while I trained in Laurinburg. The bigger downside is the city itself. You can walk to Lowe's, chic fil a, planet fitness, and Walmart across the street. At night Lowe's puts pallets in front of its mowers to keep them from being stolen. The Walmart crowd gets loud. Maybe that's true of every Walmart, but you go in, get out, such is life. Laurinburg is somewhat pleasant by day, but at night this is a low-income area that feels less safe.

The staff were awesome, and the breakfast was good too. It's a really nice, beautiful motel.
