The Lamplight Inn

The location in Lamplight, Lavallette, NJ was convenient, but after five days I was glad to be home and feel clean again. Housekeeping was available only if requested, and even then the room didn't feel clean. The stairs to the second floor were steep and worn, and felt like a safety hazard. The bathroom was cramped, with a pedestal sink, no ventilation, and no storage, so I had to put my belongings on the windowsill. What was advertised as marble was just floor tile on the walls. There was no closet, only wall hooks without hangers, and we hadn't been told about that beforehand. It all felt cheap and inconvenient. Aside from the convenient location, the stay was underwhelming. The property seemed more focused on taking money than guest comfort, and lacked basic amenities, upkeep, and attention to detail. Lavalette itself is lovely, but this place does it no favors. Unless being near the beach is your only priority, I wouldn't recommend it.

The keyless entry made it easy and stress-free to come and go, and the desk clerk was polite and wonderful. We stayed for two nights, something my husband had wanted to do since vacationing in Lavalette as a kid. Our room was spotless and just the right size. One thing to keep in mind: the side entrance door opens and closes often, so I wouldn't choose a room next to the office. Otherwise, this hotel is a wonderful gem in the heart of the Jersey Shore. We had an awesome stay.

The pool was wonderful, and our room was super clean. Great location, with friendly, accommodating service. We had an absolutely wonderful stay and are already planning to come back next year!

The beach is just a block away, and the location was perfect. I had a great two-night stay, with no complaints. My room was clean and really cute, the staff were friendly, and the heated pool was perfect. It was such an amazing experience. I'll definitely return and recommend it to others.
