Doubletree By Hilton Hotel Lawrence

I loved the retro 70s feel, and the rooms were well kept. Breakfast was tasty and convenient, and the staff were helpful. The hallways often smelled like pot, though the cleaning staff seemed to do their best about it. The hot tub was closed for repairs during our stay. We were told before check-in that maintenance would close it and that we could switch hotels if we wanted. Would I stay again? Absolutely.

The staff were wonderful, and our rooms were quiet and clean. But the elevator floor was sticky and dirty, and the whole place smelled of mildew. We had to move rooms because the smell was so strong. At checkout I asked the GM about it, and she said there was a plan to address the moisture problems. Hopefully they fix it soon. If you’re sensitive to mold, check that the issue has been resolved before you stay.

We had a really pleasant stay at the Doubletree Hilton in Lawrence. Our room was quiet, clean, and in a great location, and the toiletries were nice. The person at the front desk was very friendly and offered us warm chocolate chip cookies. The hot tub was out of order, but they offered refunds to guests who had reservations. For the price, it was a great stay.

The food was surprisingly good, and I’d recommend eating there. The staff were kind and understanding and helped me find my room. My room was clean, cozy, and good, and the AC or heater worked great. Shower pressure could’ve been better, though it seemed normal for a hotel.
