David Crockett Motel

The bathroom stayed really cold, even though the room itself was nice and warm.

I felt unwelcome and treated with prejudice here. They gave me two beds when I had requested one, then an older woman and a man banged on my door demanding more money and insisting they had made a mistake. They said they wouldn't charge me for two beds, but argued that I had two pets when I only have one. I had video of my pet and had paid. The whole encounter was frightening, especially since I was at work and my trained service dog was hiding. She goes outside or uses a pee pad, and I shouldn't have to worry that leaving no puppy pad will mean staff complain. The floors were filthy. After I showered, I wiped up the water and the towels came away black as coal. The stainless steel fridge was nice, but the outside was so dirty it looked like grime was growing on it. They claim to be pet friendly, but they don't seem to like animals. They also removed all the BIBLES from the rooms, which added to how unwelcome I felt. Carry a Bible or CRUSAFIX, because after the way they treated me, I'm not sure they'd care about you or your dog. The last rooms at the motel had bombs go off, and they're redoing those blown-up rooms, FYI.

There’s green space right behind the hotel, which is handy if you have a pet, and the beds, bedding, and pillows were very nice. The staff also brought a portable heater and replacement microwave, and the heat was restored during my stay. I appreciated them responding, but both problems should have been fixed before the room was sold. My room was tidy, though small and very bare. The heat and microwave were initially out of order, and the floor badly needed cleaning. For the price, I expected more than no coffee, easy chair, closet, hooks, clock, or bedside lights. There was also a lot of road noise. The price was acceptable, but felt high for what was provided. I wouldn't stay again, and wish I'd seen the room before handing over my credit card.

The rooms downstairs smell like raw sewage, and service at night and on weekends is poor. When the son isn't there, you never know what the room will cost because they charge whatever they want. No company is allowed, and people who live in the bottom set of rooms are constantly watching.
