Magnuson Hotel Lawrenceville

On September 11th, I checked into this motel for one night and left. When I unexpectedly came back and got the same room, the sheets were still the exact ones I'd slept on, unchanged. If I'd been given another room, the next guest might have slept on those used sheets without knowing. That's a serious sanitation risk. Offering me a different room when I complained didn't solve the basic problem: linens should be changed between guests, every time. The whole building smelled strongly of curry, especially the elevator, and I waited more than 10 minutes at the counter before anyone appeared. I was charged $100 per night, though rates listed online everywhere were under $60. Between the pricing, dirty linens, and poor service, this property is unacceptable. I recommend avoiding it if you care about your health, safety, and basic respect as a guest, until management takes responsibility and makes major changes.

We were nearby and decided to give this hotel a try last night. Big mistake. The rooms weren't cleaned well, there was a film over the floors, and the whole place smelled awful. I'd give it negative stars if I could. Ten out of ten, I'm never going back.

I lasted less than ten minutes. The place smelled horrible, and the room had a cockroach in the bed. The shower was disgusting too. I handed back the key and practically ran out. The front desk lady had asked whether I wanted a smoking or non-smoking room, which seemed odd in 2025. A few minutes after I left, she called to ask why I'd checked out. I told her about the roach, and she offered to move me to another room. I laughed a little and said no thanks. Highly do not recommend.

The whole hotel smelled like cigarette smoke, including the non-smoking rooms. The woman at the front desk was confrontational when my husband told her the tub was clogged. She took it as a complaint and went off on him. We stayed one night, then spent the rest of our stay at studio 6 in Duluth on Stephen center Dr, which was more upscale and cheaper. This is the worst hotel I've stayed in.
