La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Lawton / Fort Sill

The staff were super friendly and gave us ideas for places to eat. It’s pet friendly, in a good location, and the hotel was clean. Our room felt damp, though, and the tub wouldn’t drain during showers. Bring your own pillow, and be ready for a loud but working A/C. The TV was a good size, had good volume, and came with a guide and a decent range of channels. Breakfast was maybe 2.5 out of 5: cereal, mostly sugary kinds, bagels, waffles, eggs, sausage, biscuits and gravy three days running, plus some apples, yogurt, and hard boiled eggs. We must have had bad luck with timing because the coffee was cold every time we got some.

My stay was great, and housekeeping did a lovely job. Kathy was an amazing housekeeper and went above and beyond. At check-in around 7 pm, the front desk lady, I think her name was Anise, was so helpful that getting settled was easy. I was in room 208, which was clean and had no mildew smell. There was a hole in the bottom of the bathtub, though, and it could start smelling if they don't fix it soon. Thanks, y'all, for a clean and happy stay!

MILITARY PERSONNEL!!!! Research hotels in the area before booking, and ask around because some places may offer a lower rate for graduation. Finance personnel also advised me to avoid hotels like this one when there’s a MILITARY GRADUATION happening, since they raised the price. The room we stayed in wasn’t clean: there was a fake nail with glue and chips on the floor, some kind of bug on a towel, and the pullout bed was disgustingly dirty. The place needs updates, and breakfast wasn’t as pleasant as at other hotels in town. I heard this advice at the on-post finance brief.

I wouldn’t stay here again. The mattress was worn out and uncomfortable, and the pillows were flat. The carpet was badly worn and torn in one spot, while the walls and doors looked rough, with mismatched paint on a patched area of the bathroom door. The curtains wouldn’t close all the way, so a bright light outside shone into the room at night. There was mold in the bathroom, a stained shower curtain, weak water pressure, and a terrible shower head. This place really needs updated rooms and furniture.
