LOGE Leavenworth

I usually don’t leave bad reviews, but after I submitted a survey at the end of January and no one reached out to make things right, I figured I should warn others. For the price, this stay was extremely disappointing. The cabin information in the app didn’t seem right, and I had to turn on data to get the details. The rooms were pretty awful. There was no knob on the heater, the box spring was just a plank of plywood, and the basic living area had only two uncomfortable chairs. The TV cables looked like a rats’ nest. The bathroom was cold, and the shower curtain hung about two feet off the ground, so water got everywhere. The cologne smell when we first walked in was unbearable.

We spent over $400 for a Christmas getaway we’d planned as a big splurge, and this turned out to be one of the most expensive, least comfortable stays we’ve had. We booked through Expedia rather than directly with the hotel, but the company still needs accurate listings. We thought we’d reserved a downtown room so we could easily check on our pets. Instead, we found out at the downtown Loge that our reservation was for the Riverside Cabins, at the far end of town across the river, about a 20-minute walk or a short drive away. We paid extra for a downtown location and didn’t get it. The setting was remote, the amenities bare, and guest support and communication were disappointing. The other cabins were completely empty, which made sense to me after staying there. We asked if we could move, and staff told us to hang up and text instead. Each response took nearly 30 minutes. After going back and forth, we gave up and stayed in the cabin, then spent more on Ubers to get around. At first glance it looked newly remodeled and had trendy things like a Yeti cooler and Rumple blanket, but a lot of basics were missing: no water glasses or coffee mugs despite the kettle, coffee, and tea; no staff on site or housekeeping; no way to request mugs, toiletries, or extra towels; no heat in the freezing bathroom; and a leaky shower that soaked the floor. There was no shelving or storage, no hangers for wet or snowy clothes, and no luggage bench. The cheap laminate floors were ice cold, so bring warm socks and slippers. We paid a $25 resort fee without knowing what it covered. When we asked to check in just 90 minutes early, they wanted another $25. The whole stay felt like being charged extra at every turn, with no service, support, or human contact. Maybe it’s better in summer or for people who don’t need convenience, warmth, or basic necessities. For a rainy, freezing December visit, it wasn’t worth the price.

The Loge team went above and beyond this year when nearby fires and smoke threatened our trip. My daughter has several medical problems, including difficulty breathing, and the staff helped us cancel or reschedule. Huge thanks to Liz and the management team. We’re looking forward to our next stay. This is our favorite place in Leavenworth. The cabins have a nice balance of rustic style and modern comfort, and the riverside setting feels wonderfully woodsy even though downtown is an easy walk away. The kids had a great time. Every time we’ve needed help, the staff have been incredible.

The internet was the worst part. I was assured it would be strong and reliable for work. It showed a strong connection, but it was so slow that no videos loaded, I couldn’t stay on a Zoom meeting, and I couldn’t even edit a spreadsheet online. That’s unacceptable for a business traveler. For $300 a night, I expected basic comfort and functionality, but this was a miserable waste of money. We had to go out and buy a coffee maker because there wasn’t one. The steel mugs burned my hand, and there was nowhere comfortable to sit or eat: no table or bedside table, and the chairs were so low they barely reached my knees and weren’t usable for an adult. There wasn’t even a good place to set down a plate. The room had no bathroom sink, and everything felt thoughtless. I can’t believe this place has the rating it does. Worst $300 I’ve ever spent. One star only because zero isn’t an option.
