Lehigh Resort Club

The pool was the reason I booked, since we were visiting Lehigh for our granddaughter's first birthday and wanted somewhere relaxing to spend time together. It was heated and very clean, and the tiki bar drinks were reasonably priced for a resort. There were daily activities like afternoon ice cream or milkshakes, water aerobics, shuffleboard, and bingo. The clubhouse has a small restaurant serving lunch type food, decent enough and not expensive. We don't golf, so I can't comment on the course, pros, or staff. The welcome was easy, the lobby looked updated, and the staff were nice. Our efficiency style room had a full kitchen with a stove, microwave, and fridge. It was clean, and the Murphy bed was comfortable, though nothing fancy. It was handy to fold it up when guests came by. We did find a few little ants on the counter, enough to be a nuisance, so we kept food in the fridge and cleaned before cooking. We managed it without further trouble, knowing Florida can have this issue. There were also quite a few bees, and some owners said it would be addressed. I'll admit, the approach put me off. It's behind a gas station, with an empty lot by the road and just a small sign for the resort. We stayed anyway, and for what we paid it was pretty decent. It's on the far eastern side of Lehigh, so you'll need a car. Traffic gets heavy around rush hour, and that's coming from a Boston girl. It's a timeshare resort, a bit of a blast from the past. I do wonder how it's doing financially with fewer people buying timeshares these days, but it can be worth staying if you can get past the gas station driveway.

There were fun daytime activities if you wanted them, or you could just take it easy. The room was really clean, and the pool was warm and clean too. I'd definitely stay again.

The location rating reflects the shortage of local sit down restaurants more than anything about the resort itself. For spring training games, though, it's close by, and the amenities make it a good spot for an early spring break. This is my second year using Lehigh Resort Club as my base, and I'm looking forward to coming back next year.

The rooms are decent, maybe even better than a typical hotel room. But at least three buildings have no working WiFi, and when I called twice, nobody could say when it would be back. I came for spring break hoping to relax, but the resort is in a service dead zone, so no WiFi left me pretty cut off. Call ahead and confirm it works if you're thinking of booking. I wouldn't recommend staying here.
