Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Lehigh

The rooms are large, clean, and quiet, and the price is surprisingly good for the kind of business class hotel this is. It isn't a JW Marriott, 4 Seasons, or the Waldorf, but it gives me what I need when I'm here for work. I've probably stayed four or five times, and the last two visits brought some obvious changes. Seems there may be a new owner or management company: the name has changed, there have been cosmetic updates, and customer service has noticeably changed too.

I stayed for two months, and the staff were wonderful, helpful, and thoughtful. The hotel itself could use some work. The elevators kept breaking, and the pool had lots of floating debris, with trees and pines nearby. A cage around the pool seems like it would be a simple fix.

They do a fairly good job keeping the place looking nice, and there's a pool plus a Mexican restaurant on site. Prices seem fair to me, neither cheap nor expensive, especially since it's the only hotel in Lehigh Acres, Florida. Quality Inn is a fairly new addition here, so I don't know their pet policy. If you're bringing a pet, check first whether they allow them.

The desk attendant seemed annoyed and didn't apologize when we checked out. At check-in, she'd greeted us with, “what do you guys want,” which should've been a warning. We asked to move rooms because the first one was so bad, but the second was worse. I've never been in a more disgusting hotel. It felt more like an hourly motel that was also a shelter. The pillows looked slept on, and the sheets were dirty and stained. Dirt and grime were all over the room. Even the towels had lipstick on them. The chair and couch like cushion by the window was so stained I wouldn't even have put a garbage bag on it. I'm just glad we didn't catch anything from walking around the place.
