Leland Lodge

That bed was huge and so comfortable, I sank into it and let out a breath. The room was spotless, with lovely, thoughtfully chosen decor that made it feel inviting. They’d left chocolates, plus a welcome bag with cookies and a printed note about what the property offered. I booked at the last minute for a conference, expecting somewhere convenient, but it turned into a lovely travel discovery. Before I arrived, they welcomed me by text and email. When I said I’d be checking in late, they sent simple directions for getting my key and a number to call for help. After a long travel day, that ease was a gift. The smoked chicken wings I ordered were delicious. I’ve stayed in hundreds of hotels, from city towers to coastal inns, and The Leland Lodge ranks at the top for service, cleanliness, and those small touches that make a stay feel warm and considered. I’ll absolutely return.

For a quieter, romantic getaway, winter might be even nicer than summer here. We had a very pleasant first weekend at the Leland lodge, getting work done and having a mini date-cation. I kept saying it felt like living in the show “Gilmore girls.” I’ve never seen a lodge with more perks and hospitality, or one that promotes local businesses so much. We loved the continental breakfast and the nearby local farm stand cafe/bakery “9 beans row.” Every little detail made for a pleasant experience. I’ve been recommending it to everyone.

The Lodge brings together historic character and modern conveniences, with crafted wood interiors, several charging jacks in the rooms, a fridge and microwave, and a coffee machine available for your room if you ask. There are two dining outlets and a continental breakfast, plus all kinds of printed help sheets. It was our first visit, and we were impressed by the communication, the charm, and the chocolate chip cookies.

We weren’t ready to leave the cozy lounge with its huge fireplace. The rooms felt homey, and Luke’s bar made us feel like family. Brian and the staff went out of their way to make us comfortable, and everyone was so friendly. The Lodge was a beautiful place to stay. Great visit all around, and we’re looking forward to coming back.
