Holiday Inn Express & Suites Lenexa - Overland Park Area by IHG

Antonio at the front desk really made this stay for our family. He was warm, helpful, and so kind to the kids that they looked forward to seeing him every day. They loved the pool too, which was a trip highlight. The hotel was clean and comfortable, and everyone we met was incredibly kind. We felt welcome as soon as we arrived and would happily come back.

The people who checked us in were friendly and gave us a little welcome back. Later, after returning from our event, we found mud clumps where the left side of the room hadn't been vacuumed properly, and the outlets on the right side of the bed didn't work. The room kept heating past 70 and up to 75, so we repeatedly switched the AC on. We didn't call because we didn't want to stay up waiting for maintenance. In the morning the shower water was cold. I called downstairs and was told the heaters were strained because lots of people were showering. We ran the water for 25 minutes, then took very quick showers that were partly cold and partly lukewarm. At breakfast I asked whether the eggs had dairy, then asked about the oatmeal, but got only blank stares both times, so I couldn't eat either. I took an almond milk upstairs to make coffee, but the machine broke the pod and sprayed grounds everywhere. When we checked out, I told the desk about it. She wrote everything down and apologized, but didn't offer a receipt and only said she'd tell the manager. We also told the desk about the other problems and just got an apology. I wouldn't recommend staying here. The room was hot and poorly vacuumed, I couldn't get answers about the food, and the checkout service was awful.

The rooms were clean and well supplied, and parking was plentiful, well lit, and close to the interstate. The area also seemed very safe. Breakfast was simple but tasty, and there was plenty of it. The front desk person was polite and answered my questions easily. It was fairly easy to get to. I usually stay at Marriott, so I was truly surprised that this motel was comparable. I'd recommend it.

The room, halls, and shared spaces were clean, and check-in was very courteous. Breakfast was on point as usual. The bed, though, was awful, like a leftover from a Sleep Inn. I like the new coffee machines, but there needs to be brewed coffee as a backup. Also, the breakfast lead was really rude to her helper, who was doing her best to get the machine working.
