Hampton Inn Lenoir City

I travel every week for work, so having somewhere clean and safe matters a lot, and this place checked all my boxes. I’d read it was recently remodeled, and it really is nice. The rooms have lots of space, no carpet, and a sleek look, with very clean bathrooms. The hallways smell fresh and are clean, and the parking is great and well lit. You can watch Netflix on the TVs, breakfast was really good, and there’s a handy little market inside for snacks.

I was visiting the hospital next door, so the location was convenient. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the hotel and room were clean and comfortable. I’d stay here again if I were in the area.

I spend 25 of 30 days a month in a Hilton, and this was the first time I’d been told no. Maybe it’s not a big deal, but I have certain expectations when I stay at a Hilton. Hospitality matters, and this rubbed me the wrong way. I’ve been working outside on the road for over two weeks without a day off, and I was tired of sitting in my room. I’d packed my truck and was about to leave, and the lobby was empty apart from me. I just wanted to eat breakfast and watch the news on the lobby TV. When I asked, Jonathan at the front desk said no because he’d get in trouble. I pressed the issue, but got nowhere. This rating is based on comparison with other Hilton hotels. The night audit staff member was very kind and moved me from the fourth to the first floor. She’s the only reason I didn’t give service one star.

My husband was next door in the hospital fighting for his life, and our children and I stayed here for four nights because we live 45 minutes away. We were already dealing with the unimaginable, and my kids and I didn’t deserve to be treated this way. The breakfast server Brenda was rude and unprofessional. After I got my son a plate, she loudly said it wouldn’t happen again. When I came back for my own plate, she scooped up all the scrambled eggs with the metal pan and spoon, leaving too little for me. Breakfast wasn’t closing, and other families were still eating and getting waffles. The previous morning, she stood in front of the hot plate so we couldn’t get anything else. I asked if she had a problem with my children and me getting breakfast. She told me to talk to her manager. I did, and management said she was like that all the time. I’ve worked for Hilton properties before, and that isn’t Hilton hospitality. If she doesn’t like the job, she should find another career path.
