Gateways Inn & Restaurant

The Miranda room gave us welcome extra space while traveling with our baby. It also has lovely light and a big living room, so I can see it working really well for getting ready for a wedding. Breakfast felt quite upscale and was outstanding, especially the omelette. Everyone on staff we spoke with was friendly and helpful.

We came back for our anniversary after first staying here during our wedding weekend, and the location is hard to beat. Room sizes vary, so it’s worth choosing carefully. This time we splurged on the Miranda Suite, which was spacious and comfortable, with lovely views, great light, and blackout shades that worked just as well. There were a few awkward moments around food and drinks. I had to ask more than once for silverware and napkins when taking our included breakfast upstairs. The bartender did get us two glasses and a bucket of ice for cheese and cocktails in our room, but my request seemed unusual to them. Later, before 10 on Saturday night, we asked the kitchen for dessert after dinner. They were winding down, though the restaurant wasn’t closed, and couldn’t help us. Those service hiccups didn’t spoil a great stay. I’d be lucky to return, and better handling of these small guest requests would make an already great place even better.

The inn was peaceful and romantic, and breakfast was delicious. My wife and I stayed in the beautiful Miranda suite, with a great location that put nearby towns within a 10-15 minute drive. The staff were so friendly. We had a wonderful time and would highly recommend it.

Gateways B&B balances looks with practical comfort really well. The Juliet room was attractive and had comfortable furnishings, especially the excellent bed. There was plenty of surface space in both the bedroom and bathroom, which you don’t often find in B&Bs where style seems to come first. The shower was excellent, hot water came almost instantly, and the quiet air conditioning responded quickly. Staff were consistently helpful and friendly. I recommend Gateways B&B without reservation, no pun intended.
