Howard Johnson by Wyndham Lenox

I booked through a booking site after seeing a room listed with a king bed and jacuzzi tub. I called to check, and was told they no longer have jacuzzi rooms and need to update the website. I asked right away to cancel and get a refund. They said I’d be charged for one night, but the $9.95 cancellation insurance would be refunded. I filed a report through Apple Pay and am still waiting for the refund; I’ll update later. The person who answered the front desk phone in Lenox was also rude and unprofessional.

The staff made this HJ stand out. The two or three young people who welcomed us and handled checkout went out of their way to make me feel special. They deserve raises. This was the best HJ I’ve seen in years. --Mike L.

The huge jacuzzi tub was clean, and the room itself was very nice. Being close to the road meant some traffic noise, though it wasn’t bad.

The shower had strong pressure and plenty of hot water, and the room was clean enough, though some spots were missed near the TV stand and there were stains on the comforter and couch. Noise was the bigger problem. The family next door was loud much of the night, and even with the bathroom fan, earplugs, and a pillow over my head, I couldn’t block it out.
