We relaxed on the sofa in a comfortable suite. The kitchen had a large college-dorm-style refrigerator with a freezer below, plus dishes and silverware for four. There was also a toaster, microwave, and dishwasher. The indoor pool and gym were available, and the buffet breakfast was fresh and above average.

The room was spacious and clean, with soft sheets, and I slept really well. Breakfast was good, though the cold-drinks machine was broken, so there was no water or juice.

This was the worst hotel experience I've ever had. I was picking up my niece so she and my daughter could swim for the evening. My family lives only minutes away, but I called the night before to check that the pool was open and working, and was assured it was. It was advertised as a heated salt pool. When we went in, the chlorine smell was overwhelming, and the water was so cold the girls and I could only stand there shivering. At about 6:30 pm, I asked the front desk man if he could turn up the heat. He said he couldn't do anything and maintenance would adjust the temperature first thing in the morning. I asked for a manager, but none was available. He said the manager would be in first thing, too. We checked again at 9 am, and the pool was just as cold, maybe colder. When I went to leave and asked for a manager, I was told he was at the bank making the year-end deposit and it was pretty big, so he might be gone a while. I said I'd wait because I wanted a refund. The woman at the desk, who said she was basically acting manager while he was out, called him on her cell. She told me all he would do was change the rate to $75 because we'd stayed in the room all night. If I'd been told the night before that the pool's heating element was out and the girls couldn't swim, I would have gone somewhere else. Instead, I was told it would be fixed by morning. We paid $85 to stay here even though my family was minutes away and could have put us up. Clear communication would have saved us this stay. I hope Mr. Scott Taylor, the manager who was at the bank making that big year-end deposit, enjoyed my $85 contribution. I will NEVER stay here again. He could have offered to make it right by inviting us back for a free stay once the pool was fixed, but he didn't. What a joke.

Marion at the front desk was quick to help, and the room had plenty of space. The free continental breakfast was the best I’ve had in a long while. I’d stay here again.
