Canyon Inn

I arrived around 9:30 and had to call the after-hours number. Getting us checked in took a long time. The bedroom was okay, but the bathroom had a lot wrong with it: the hinge pin was out so the door wouldn't close, the shower had greasy handprints and stains, there was no tub plug, and the fan didn't work. There was also a huge water-filled bubble in the paint above the showerhead. For nearly $100, I expected better. The office wasn't open at checkout, so there was nobody to complain to then either.

The room smelled awful, and after we lay down, we realized the bed was wet. At first we thought the sheets were just damp from washing, but about an hour later my girlfriend stood up with a soaked pant leg. Under the blankets, we found several wet patches on the mattress. We asked to switch rooms, and the owner accused us, two grown adults, of urinating and defecating on the bed, then refused to move us. He was confrontational and rude while we were polite. We asked for a refund because of how poorly he handled it. He refused at first, then returned only half after some negotiation. Check-in also involved an $80 total charge after we were told there'd be a $60 deposit. I strongly recommend avoiding this hotel.

What started as a stopover two years ago has become home for my family and me. I picked Supernova after comparing prices because it had a full-size fridge in the room, not a mini fridge. Jodie, the manager, is the heart of this place. She takes pride in her work, cares about everyone who stays here, and is always there to help, whether the problem is big or small. She goes above and beyond. Sometimes she may be tired and ask you to wait, but she'll still be there for you. We're blessed to have her in our lives, and when we eventually have a home of our own, she'll always be part of our family. Thank you, Jodie, for loving and taking care of all of us. We love you.

I didn't plan to stay here again after my experience in 2020, but ownership has changed since then, so I gave it another try. What a turnaround. I'm glad I came back. Customer service was 11 out of 10!
