Super 8 by Wyndham Lewiston

The staff were great, but that’s where the good part ended. I paid extra for breakfast and it wasn’t available. The walls were moldy and peeling, and everything smelled. The chair was an old, peeled, nasty office chair, like it had been pulled from an alley. I was tired and should’ve left when I saw it. I slept badly, the blankets didn’t cover the bed, the TV looked like it was from 2002, there were cobwebs, and the sink was broken. This room shouldn’t have been rented out.

The counter staff were mostly helpful, but management made it hard for them to do their jobs. We went to get our breakfast bags Saturday morning and were told they’d run out and didn’t have enough for us. On Sunday there weren’t any at all. The manager didn’t get the breakfast supplies out of lockup until quite late in the day. I won’t stay here again.

The staff were fantastic and quick to help where they could, but the hotel itself was a mess. Booking got complicated because the computers were down. Wi-Fi was laughably bad and made us log in again every 40 minutes or so, even when we were trying to stream shows on the TV. There was a nasty old computer chair dissolving in the corner of our room. I only understood why when I saw the similarly worn chair at reception. Five-star staff stuck in a dilapidated, zero-star hotel.

It’s a budget motel on the edge of Lewiston, with very clean rooms and slightly worn but perfectly usable furniture. The employees were friendly. I liked it a lot.
