The room seemed clean and was reasonably maintained, though a little dated. Then we spotted a full-grown bed bug. I’d check the mattress before settling in, especially along the seams and edges, where we found them and their droppings. Since we’d booked through Priceline, we were thankfully able to get a full refund.

The front desk clerk was very polite, and the location is good. Management, though, was a complete failure. We paid $120 up front online for two nights, but checked out right after seeing our room. There were used towels on the bathroom door, dirty, dingy walls that badly needed paint, and crumbling caulk around the tub, sink, and hot and cold knobs. The tub spout leaked onto a rolled-up bath mat, which was soaked and brown-stained. Water damage showed on the bathroom and entry-hall ceilings and walls, with serious deterioration by the tub that, in our view, could invite mold. We complained and the clerk showed us three other rooms. Their bathrooms and hallways had similar problems. One had a dresser door coming off, and another had a shower curtain holder that was failing. We asked the clerk to contact the manager, checked out, and got a signed letter confirming we hadn’t stayed. We found a good room at the nearby Holiday Inn Express. It’s now been five days without a response to our request to speak with management, so we plan to dispute the credit card charge. I can’t understand how this place gets a three-star rating or those glowing four- and five-star reviews, which seem like they might be paid for or AI-generated. Beware. I’m sending this review and photos to the Denton County Public Health Department.

The bathroom door was patched together with plywood, and there were holes in the walls. I didn’t feel safe there. There was hair in the shower, too. I wish I’d remembered to take pictures, but unfortunately the reservation wasn’t in my name.

After staying here on and off for twenty years, I won’t be back. The TV looked like a computer monitor, and the room was short on washcloths and towels. When I asked at the desk for more towels, I got an angry response and still didn’t get any. Breakfast was a joke: bread, dry cereal with powdered milk, and no working coffee or waffle machine. They did leave orange and apple juice, but we had to spend $30 for breakfast next door. The service and management were obnoxious and unprofessional.
