Courtyard By Marriott Dallas - Lewisville

For the price, this Courtyard Marriott was a pleasant surprise. It was clean and well kept, and I’d book it again when I’m next in Texas. It was a solid stay and a great deal. A couple of things to know: there’s no microwave in the room, but guests can use one in the lobby. The fridge in my room worked more like a cooler. It didn’t get very cold or refreeze my medication ice pack.

I arrived very late, at 2am, and the staff had held my room. Someone from the front desk was there to greet me, and they were friendly and helpful. The room was very clean, nicely decorated, and had a comfortable bed. I liked the lobby setup, too, with nice furniture and plenty of places to sit, relax, or get some work done. I had a wonderful stay and look forward to coming back.

The staff were friendly, but I wasn’t impressed with the food prices. Breakfast cost $27 for one slice of toast with avocado, though it was mixed with soggy lettuce, plus a muffin, an apple, and coffee. Later I asked for tea to have in my room since my husband drinks coffee and I prefer tea. Two tea bags cost me over $5, which I felt should’ve been included with the room. The location is the best thing about this place.

This completely ruined our family trip. I bought a “Stay with Breakfast” package directly from Marriot Bonvoy for 12/24-12/25 at an extra cost. At check-in, the front desk confirmed breakfast was included and said it would be served from 6:30am-9:30am the next day. But the bistro was completely closed that morning for the holiday. Why sell a breakfast package if the restaurant will be shut? There was no notice of the closure on the website or at the hotel. In fact, signs around the property seemed to say the bistro would be open in the mornings during the holiday.
