Bluegrass Extended Stay Hotel

I've been here for two weeks so far, and the price is hard to beat, even compared with the really shady hotels. There are lots of restaurants within walking distance too. I'd seen some bad reviews and wasn't sure what to expect, but I'm glad I didn't let them put me off. It's clean and quiet, and everyone working here has been extremely nice. The women who cleaned my room were thorough and very polite. I'd definitely stay here again.

It's an extended stay, so there are residents around. You may hear arguing, see people hanging out in the stairs or breezeway, and might even come across someone sleeping by the stairs. The rooms were clean but very outdated, and the location is near the interstate.

The hotel's in a great part of town, close to everything, but it was generally unclean and the customer service was poor. I wouldn't pay what we paid for the same experience again. We were in Lexington for a country music festival and chose this place based on its pretty good reviews. The man at check-in was very kind. But the chairs, counters, and carpets were so dirty that our socks and feet turned black walking across the room. Sitting down left dirt and grime on our clothes. A man selling things followed our car to the room and waited at the top of the stairs outside our door to try to sell us things. He was nice enough, but it was uncomfortable, and he seemed to do it to other guests too. Later we ran out of towels and other amenities. We called, and were told housekeeping would bring them. Four hours passed with no word, so I went to the lobby. A new receptionist kept yelling “how can I help you?” from a room I couldn't see, over and over, until he finally came out to speak to me. He said he'd called to tell us to collect the items ourselves, but we'd been in the room all day and hadn't received a call. Why not just tell us that in the first place?

The heat wouldn't turn up very high, but I liked the place. The room was clean, the fridge was clean too, and the little towels were knotted up so cutely. I was pleasantly surprised, honestly.
