Courtyard by Marriott Lexington North

The two suite balconies were filthy, which was my biggest issue. We booked two rooms and both balconies, which are meant to come with the king suites, were covered in dirt. The property is also under construction, something we weren’t told when booking. Half the hotel is unusable, the entrance is closed, and you have to go off site to use a gym. The rooms look dated, though I assume they’ll be updated once the work is done. We’ve always come here by choice, but lately it seems to be getting dirtier and dirtier. The staff were still kind and respectful at check-in and checkout.

After I had to leave an unsafe motel, I was stuck trying to find any room at all. Teisha took my call and went out of her way to get me a last-minute room. She was caring, professional, and so kind that she completely changed how the trip was going. The Courtyard Marriott in Lexington was spotless, conveniently located, and a good price. I’ll stay there again and have become a loyal Marriott guest because of the way Teisha treated me. Her compassion made all the difference.

I tried to cancel and move to another hotel, but they wouldn’t waive the cancellation fee. Had I known the whole property was being remodeled, I wouldn’t have booked. There was no notice about the work, and I don’t understand why they’re still open while it’s going on. The rooms felt stale and old, and there was a moth in ours. The night staff were hardly at the desk, service was poor, and the water took 30 minutes to get hot. I expect it might be a decent place once the remodel is finished, but right now it feels like they’re trying to squeeze money from guests instead of closing to complete the work.

Getting around from here was easy, and the location worked well for my destinations. Still, this wasn’t anywhere near my first choice. They’re remodeling, so perhaps things will be better later, but my room was really old. The door to my section of the building was broken and they left it unlocked until 11pm.
