Ginger was the reason I'd come back. The room was nice and the bed comfortable, but she's the hotel's real five-star feature. If she ever left, I wouldn't return. She's the bartender, therapist, tour guide, hype squad, and cocktail wizard all at once. I went down for one quiet nightcap and somehow ended up with a great drink, three new friends, and a heartfelt attachment to the bowl of bar lemons and limes. I watched her manage a businessman, a bachelorette, and a very confused guy at the same time without mixing up a drink or spilling a drop. She may run on espresso, sarcasm, and hospitality magic, maybe even divine help. One drink slid so smoothly across the bar that I checked whether the counter sloped. It didn't. She just has that kind of power. Ten out of ten drinks, service, and personality, and eleven out of ten reason to stay again.

Cleo Roher had everything ready for me when I arrived, including the celebration of love package, which completely blew my fiancée's mind. Drey Rayford was welcoming, polite, informative, and went well beyond what was needed. The whole first visit was perfect, and this beautiful, distinctive hotel will be my regular choice from now on. The beds are huge and comfortable, the flat screens are nicely updated, and the fifth-floor views are amazing. The restaurant next door, 33 Staves, serves delightful food. I found everything I needed and more. Thank you!

The food alone makes a stay at Origin Hotel in Lexington, KY worthwhile. It was fresh, full of flavor, and a clear step above typical hotel food. The kitchen knows what it's doing. I also found the staff accommodating and quick to help, whether I had a small request or wanted local suggestions. The rooms were clean, modern, and comfortable, and the thoughtful design gives the place a boutique feel without being pretentious. Parking was easy, the location convenient, and the atmosphere balanced relaxed with upscale. Worth every penny, and I'd absolutely recommend it.

The room was spacious and clean, and housekeeping came by on our second day. One of the desk clerks, a shorter young woman with reddish hair, was especially attentive and did an excellent job. We'd consider staying again because the location is convenient, and we'd be glad to see her again. We were there visiting family for Mother's day, and the hotel was lively, with a full bar and people dining. But check-in was disappointing. The first clerk stayed seated in a sweater, handed us the key, and couldn't explain the amenities. When I asked what an amenity was, she didn't know. I had to ask about parking, breakfast, drink vouchers, and a gym or pool myself. Parking turned out to be around the side, and we dragged our bags across the lot and up to the room. Carts were available later, but other guests had taken them and didn't return them until morning. There was no free breakfast and no bar voucher, and she never answered about a gym or pool. She seemed untrained for the job, and I hope management gives her more guidance and checks in. She nearly cost the hotel a guest. I don't know her name, but she was tall with long red hair.

The hotel was very clean and conveniently located near the site of our state tournament, which I appreciated. But on our first morning, a main water line broke and we had no water. It may not have been the hotel's fault, yet they offered neither a discount nor a free breakfast or dinner, despite the high price. We were staying another night when housekeeping came straight into the room 15 minutes before checkout, without knocking or announcing themselves. Once they realized we were still there, thankfully dressed, they asked if we needed service but didn't apologize.
