Country Inn

For someone watching their budget, this place is clean and quiet, and I’d happily come back. I’ve stayed at Country Inn twice in the past few weeks, and both visits were the same. I’m fussy about cleanliness and check the sheets, mattress, toilet, shower, and sink as soon as I arrive. I’ve even walked out of another place after inspecting the room, but that wasn’t an issue here. It is an older motel, so the rooms are small and dated, and the TV is on the small side.

The rooms themselves were comfortable once we got settled, and they did meet our needs. The trouble was all the moving around. Our first room hadn’t been cleaned, so we were switched. The next night we had to move again, and the new room had a door that wouldn’t close properly. Staff already knew about it; when I asked to move, they told us to slam it shut. I asked for a repair instead, and someone came up and fixed it pretty quickly. After that, the room was fine. For a cheap hotel the rooms are nice, but the whole experience was a pain.

The person at the registration desk was friendly, though the room fell short on comfort and cleanliness. It wasn’t as clean as I expected, there was no bottled water offered while a boil water order was in effect, and the walls let through a lot of noise. There also wasn’t a comfortable chair to sit in.

There’s no elevator, and the beds were a mixed bag. One room had comfortable beds, while the bed in the other was exceptionally hard and miserable. Breakfast was okay. Also, every room seemed to have a bathroom light out. I guessed that was their lame way of cutting the electric bill.
