Roaches were all over the furniture and crawling around as soon as I turned on the room lights. I kept my bags outside because I didn't want to bring any home. Check-in was awful too. The owner was rude and talked down to me, then threatened not to let me check in unless I “lost the attitude.” I had only asked how to use the key, since it wouldn't open my door, and he snapped that it was “common sense.” This place might work as a stop before getting back on the road, but I won't spend money here again. Travelers, beware.

The beds were uncomfortable, with filthy mattresses, no fitted sheets, and no pillowcases. The whole place was disgusting. Roaches were crawling everywhere, and the furnishings were nasty. The owner was rude and seemed to enjoy harassing guests. This place should be condemned.

The shower kept dripping even when turned off, and the water never got properly hot. I ran it for 10 minutes in the morning and it didn't even get warm. Later that night it was warm, but still not hot. When I complained, the manager tried to show me how to get hot water as I was heading out, then insisted I didn't know how to turn it on. I'm 61, well educated, have run businesses, and owned several homes. I know how hot water works. If that room had special instructions, they should have told me at check-in or offered another room. I asked for a partial refund the next morning and was refused. I've heard other guests complain about the hot water too, and it seemed like the manager had no intention of fixing it. He'd rather argue than give good service, and he's lost my business. I come to Williamsburg, VA one weekend a month. The room also smelled bad and was old, though that was the least of the problems. The refrigerator wasn't plugged in, and it wouldn't run when I plugged it in. There were only two bath towels and one washcloth for two people, with no bathmat, second washcloth, or hand towels. The soap bar was tiny and there was no shampoo. You can get a hotel just as good elsewhere for the same price.

The bathroom was awful, with broken things, no towel rack, and no soap. There was a microwave but no refrigerator, and the room had roaches and other bugs. Worst place ever.

The smell was overwhelming and turned my stomach. There was a roach in the dresser drawer, a condom wrapper in the trash, and the bed looked like someone had been sitting on it. One pillow was dry rotted, and two others were on the other bed. The toilet was clogged, and the tub kept running no matter how firmly I turned the dials off. The room had no door latch, no mini fridge, and old looking furniture and bedding, like from the 80s. The TV speakers were blown. There was no housekeeper, I was told at check-in, and the owners would turn off the elevator. When the Wi-Fi went out, I asked if the password had changed. The owner said no, he had to reboot it and I needed to give him a while. We couldn't leave because we had no choice. The housing agency had sheltered us there during an emergency after an illegal eviction. I told the agency how bad it was, plan to call the proper agencies about the conditions, and don't recommend this place to anyone. It needs to be shut down. This is the worst hotel I've ever seen or stayed in.
