Tip Top Motel Cafe & Bakery

The outside doesn't look like much, but locals fill this place because the food is good and fairly priced. Breakfast was wonderful, the service was quick, and the mac nut pancakes were great.

Just to be clear, I’m reviewing the café, not the motel. A local recommended it, and both the food and service were excellent. I enjoyed the Roast Pork plate so much on my first visit that I came back for country style chicken to go. It was delicious too. Parking is tough if you aren't staying at the Motel, but finding a spot is worth the effort.

We got there around 9:30 in the morning, and the parking lot was nearly full. With deliveries on both sides, finding a space was difficult. The cafe staff seated us quickly. My wife liked her oxtail soup and would come back for it. I had the beef stew, which was just okay. It was local, tomato based comfort food with plenty of potatoes and carrots, but the meat was tough. I've had better stew, so I'm not sure I'd order it again.

There was plenty of space, but the place still felt lively. The food came out fast and service was prompt. I just wasn't a fan of the generic hash browns. They used to shred them and cook them on the griddle, which I preferred.
