Motel 6 Bloomsburg, PA

The room was spotless and cozy, and I felt fine taking a bath there, which isn’t something I can say about the many Motel 6s I’ve stayed in. We slept really well, and when we slept past checkout, staff called at 11:30 the next morning. They said there’d be no late fee as long as we were out by 1, so we could take our time. Everyone was understanding and kind. We’d arrived around 11:30 at night, soaking wet and freezing, without a reservation. Heather at the desk first told us they’d just sold the last room. After I called another nearby hotel and learned they were booked too, Heather came back and said she thought they could find us a room. She got us a perfect one at a reasonable price. We cranked up the heat and drew a bath. It felt so much like a hotel that the only things missing were chocolate on the pillows and an elevator to our room.

My company booked me here through MedExpress, so this wasn’t my choice. The front desk interaction with Sue felt very uncomfortable and unprofessional. She was passive-aggressive, rude, and intrusive, getting into a personal conversation of mine and my coworkers’ business when it wasn’t appropriate or necessary. I later reported her attitude and poor customer service to customer relations. When I came back, she said, “I didn’t even know if you wanted to be here anymore.” That was confusing and out of line, given this was a company-paid booking. In a simple exchange where I was only asking questions and wasn’t aggressive, she threatened to involve the police. It was intimidating and made me feel unsafe. Her tone and treatment also felt biased and discriminatory. I’ll strongly advise MedExpress and Pam Transportation not to book drivers here again. I don’t recommend this Motel 6 because of the front desk conduct and lack of professionalism. For comparison, Super 8 (Windom Hotels) in Harrisburg, PA gave me much better service, with professional staff, cleaner rooms, a microwave, and respectful care. The difference was night and day.

A basic hotel at a good price, okay for a night. The walls are really thin. While I was showering, I could hear a man next door singing and what sounded like moaning, so loudly I thought he was in our room. It was pretty disconcerting. There was no microwave in the room, which you’d expect even at the cheapest hotels.

We stopped here overnight on our drive from Connecticut to Michigan, and there were plenty of rooms available. Being pet friendly with no extra fee was what sold us. The room was clean and comfortable, and after six hours on the road the shower was so relaxing. Amanda at the front desk was very kind and didn’t mind when I had to interrupt her a few times for towels and shampoo. My only complaint is that there are no grab bars in the shower to help disabled or elderly guests. Amanda, thanks for being so helpful and kind!
