Ester Lee Oceanview Inn

The view is beautiful, and the furnishings are good. But the room came with too many irritating problems. The large bedroom window’s blind didn’t work, so the parking lot light lit the room all night. The manager couldn’t fix it or find a repairman. The bathroom heater was out, and the kitchen lacked some supplies we needed. Rusty baseboard heaters make the place look cheap, and a coat of paint would do a lot for its appearance.

We paid close to 300 for one night with a kitchenette at the Ester Lee, bringing our furbabies for a quick NYE trip to the coast. The huge windows gave us an amazing view, but the rest of the room lacked comfort for that price. The sitting room had two stained chairs and an old side table, with no ottoman or anywhere to put our feet up. The kitchenette was sparse, with just two plates, bowls, glasses, and so on. The blinds didn’t work well and couldn’t be rolled all the way up across the windows. Check-in isn’t until 4 and checkout is at 11, which doesn’t leave much time, especially in winter when it gets dark early. I understand these rooms allow dogs, but if we didn’t want an extra charge, we were told to clean up and wash the dishes. We definitely won’t be back.

The motel isn’t the newest building, but it’s been kept up nicely, just as I’ve kept up my own home. The rooms were very clean and had all the basic necessities. There’s a great pet area, a beautiful beach view, and nearby beach access with a handicap parking area.

Brittney was working at the front desk on what I think were our last two visits, and she helped us both times. She was always friendly and accommodating with my pet. I’d booked online thinking the room was pet-friendly, but it turned out it wasn’t. We’ve stayed here multiple times and have always felt comfortable. The rooms are a little outdated, but the views have been wonderful, and they all have an electric fireplace and spectacular views. Two of the rooms we’ve had were kitchenettes. It’s been affordable, too. Once, we got a smaller room than expected and the TV didn’t work. They accommodated us and moved us to a lovely room with a bedroom. I’ve always been very satisfied and will try to stay here whenever I’m passing through.
