The room was basic, as expected for a budget hotel, but it was nice, and the front desk woman was quick and friendly. I’d driven a long way through below-zero temperatures and an ice storm, and stopped mainly to take a hot shower. With the tap turned all the way to hot, the water was barely lukewarm. Hot water is something I expect, so that’s why I’m giving it two stars. Without that issue, it would’ve been five.
Thanks for letting us stay for a week, but the room needs better cleaning. The floors hadn’t been swept, it smelled strongly of cigarettes, and the tub leaked onto the floor along the side patched with duct tape.
The outside is well kept for an older place, so I thought I’d found a diamond in the rough. But there was a thick cloud of cigarette and weed smoke from the lobby down the halls. Every room has a no smoking or vaping sign, so I guess people followed it by stepping into the hallway to smoke. I’ll pass.
It’s usually pretty quiet here, and my room was big and very clean. The staff were so friendly too. At 1 a.m. I gave up after spending 20 minutes trying to open a salsa jar, so I took it to the front desk, lol.
The room itself was nice, with a fridge and microwave, and the beds were decent. But the hotel felt sketchy, there were lots of strange smells, and the walls did little to block sound.
