Econo Lodge Lincoln

This is a cheap motel, but cleanliness should still meet some standard. The mattress was stained and moldy, the baseboards were rotting and smelled of mildew, and the bedding looked like someone had peed through it. There were questionable stains on the bed frame and headboard, plus dead roaches everywhere.

The front desk man was very nice, helpful, and apologetic, but our stay was exhausting after a ten-hour drive and getting our daughter settled for college. We had trouble in both rooms. The first was on the second floor, and the building's hallways were extremely hot with no AC on. Our room was just as hot. The TV and phone didn't work, one light was out, and the AC still wasn't getting cold after 30 minutes. I had to use my cell to call the desk. The man came up to try to fix the TV and phone but couldn't, so we moved rooms. In the new room the TV also had problems and he had to come back. A light went out, one bed had stains, and an opened bag of rice had been left in a drawer. After I showered, the water drained very slowly, so my husband had to wait to use it. Breakfast was limited to cereal, juice, and cinnamon cake, and I saw a large bug crawl from under the food. The rooms need a much better cleaning, and someone should check that things work before guests arrive. These problems could have been avoided.

The outside doesn't hint at how nice the room is once you're in. The bed was super comfortable.

My daughter and I had a peaceful stay. The rooms were nice and clean, and we both thought the hotel was very pleasant.
