Pemi Cabins

At check-in we got a great dinner tip nearby. Our modern apartment was clean and had everything we needed. The river view from it wasn’t the best, but staff pointed us to the new lounge, where we could watch the water and hear the birds. They even left a small bowl of snacks while we sat there. Next time we’d like to try one of the cozy-looking rustic cabins, especially one with a fireplace.

Cabin 6 was so drafty that it never got above 60 degrees the whole weekend. There was a small extra heater as well as the forced hot air vent, but neither made us comfortable. Extra blankets were offered, but that’s not a practical fix for a whole weekend. With no working fireplace or proper draft control, I don’t think Cabin 6 should be rented in below-freezing winter weather. Getting to the cabin was difficult, and with the walkways completely covered in snow, I wouldn’t recommend it in winter for anyone with mobility issues. The front desk person was very friendly, and staff communication was quick and polite, but it didn’t help much otherwise. I asked about moving to a bigger cabin and was told none were available because all the pipes had frozen. They offered free firewood, then told us the cabin’s fireplace didn’t work. We’d also been told several days ahead that the stove was out of order, with only a small refund offered for that inconvenience. I’m very disappointed to have spent $300+ here. I would have preferred a call to cancel, even at short notice.

The setting was peaceful, and waking up to snow on the trees felt magical. Our cabin was cozy, clean, and warm. It’s close to town, hiking trails, and ice castle. I’d happily come back to Pemi Cabins.

We loved listening to the water at our cozy, clean cabin right by the beautiful Pemigewasset River. The fire pit was great for evening fires, and the dog-friendly setup was a big plus for us. It’s a handy base for nearby spots like Franconia Notch and Loon Mountain. We had a wonderful weekend getaway at Pemi Cabins and can’t wait to return.
