Fairfield Inn & Suites Lincoln

The loud AC fan, dirt, and an earplug in the tub were bad enough, and there wasn't much service or staff around. Breakfast wasn't kept up, either: nobody refreshed the bread or made sure the eggs were fresh, and the coffee was lukewarm. The common areas and entrance had no AC running in over-80-degree weather with high humidity. Pets are allowed, which I'm fine with, but around 12:30am it sounded like the Lincoln SWAT Team was running big dogs up and down the third floor for about half an hour. Definitely not Marriott quality. Worst hotel experience we've had, and very disappointing for a Fairfield.

The building was in rough shape. A large mouse or roach trap sat under the sink in the downstairs public restroom, the pool area looked unclean with abandoned swimsuits and belongings, and the first-floor hall had badly bubbling wallpaper and a dirty laundry room. Part of the carpet was missing in another hallway, which seemed like a trip hazard. Bags of garbage and leftover food sat unattended in the room across from ours throughout our stay. Our room had a king bed reservation, but the first room we entered had makeup stains and footprints on the bedding and pillowcases, plus body hair, stains, mold traces, and body wash residue in the shower. It clearly hadn't been cleaned after the previous guest. We went down to report it and waited while two other customers complained that their conference reservation had been lost and their room layout was wrong. The manager then handed us keys to a room one of them had just returned. It didn't match our booking, was dirty, and had a broken latch that looked easy to force open. After we raised this again, he finally gave us the room type we'd booked. It looked clean at first, but later we found stained towels and sheets covered in dirt and hair. When we went back downstairs, the manager seemed to be the only employee working. He took a personal call without acknowledging us. We asked for fresh sheets; he asked if we could wait until the next day, though we were only staying one night and weren't going to sleep in a dirty bed. We said no, and he called someone in from home. The sheets were changed about 20 minutes later, just as we were considering leaving for another hotel. We had to speak to management more than four times to get a clean room, bedding, and towels. They seemed inconvenienced by our requests, and housekeeping wasn't adequately available. Marriott should be ashamed to have its name on this place and should consider new management. I strongly advise people to avoid it.

Our family had four rooms for a graduation weekend, and every one was in some state of filth or disrepair. In our room, the ottoman was ripped, the hook on the back of the door was broken, the flat sheet didn't cover the mattress, and the shower curtain and pillowcases were stained. The alarm clock was dusty and the carpet was coming up. The rooms were disgustingly dirty, with lots of things broken. The hot tub heater didn't work. Tile around the pool was rusty, dirty, and broken, and the hot tub wasn't cordoned off even though it looked nasty and unsafe. Marriott should be embarrassed to have its name on this property. Don't stay here.

Mouse traps in the bathroom and a nasty pool and jacuzzi made us decide not to stay. The hot tub didn't work, either. This is low standards for a Marriott and really needs someone to upgrade it. I understand it's in an industrial park, but there are lots of containers that could bring in mice and homeless people. Maybe this place is worth a $40 stay.
