Hyatt Place Lincoln Downtown Haymar

The front desk lady was friendly and the rooms are nice, but getting there was frustrating. You have to park in a garage with no signs showing how to get back to the hotel. I wasn't dressed for the weather because I had no way to know I'd be walking several blocks in 25 degree weather. After calling for directions, I finally made it, only to find the elevator didn't respond at all. There was no beep or car, and the lights above the doors were black, but no out-of-order sign. Carrying a week's worth of luggage up three flights of stairs sucked. The rooms also have no microwaves or USB ports. And finding earplugs left in the room made me wonder what I was in for the week.

We really like this hotel and its location is the best for us when we're in town, but this visit wasn't up to what we've come to expect after staying here many times. The glass shower stall looked a bit dirty, maybe stained with soap, but that doesn't excuse it. The shower doors could use an update for guests' comfort and a more professional look. I also don't remember the room doors slamming so hard. They could wake the dead, and the kids running up and down the hallway didn't help. I think the place needs improvements to live up to what it promises.

Huge thanks to Alicia. The thermostat wasn't working right in the room we'd been given, so we called her and she jumped in to troubleshoot. She got back to us right away, moved my family to the room across the hall, and made sure our comfort came first. We'll definitely be back!

The hotel is close to the capital and UNL, and the rooms were a nice size and clean. I just wish someone had cleared away the pizza box left in the hallway by the elevator most of the day, along with the leftover pizza in the elevator. It was pretty gross.
