Comfort Suites Marysville - Yuba City

We got through the night, but I wouldn't recommend it. The deadbolt in our first room didn't work, and the room needed some attention. They moved us, and the second room was much better. If you can pay a little more to stay somewhere else, I would.

The front desk person was pleasant and got us checked in quickly. The location worked fine, with a gas station, Walmart, and Costco nearby, but being right by the highway made it loud. Inside, the old, worn room was noisy too, with banging and thudding going on constantly after we arrived. The satellite TV didn't work, either. At $250 a night, I wasn't impressed.

We had a king suite, so there was plenty of room, and the walk-in shower was a real plus. It had grab bars, a nonslip floor, and an adjustable showerhead, with shampoo and conditioner placed across from the spray. The person checking us in was very personable. Still, the hotel looked better from the outside than it was. The shower had mold, the windows were filthy, and the carpet needs replacing. The footstool looked like it had been there since the 1950s, which made it seem like nobody cared. The bathroom sink drained slowly, and the thermostat showed a low battery warning. It was also mounted too high for someone under 5'3" to read. Rooms on the highway side get a lot of traffic noise, and the breakfast area was tiny, with no employee restocking or cleaning it. I'd already been disappointed with the CHOICE brand for several years. Seeing this place made me give it another try instead of choosing Holiday Inn, but that didn't work out.

The room rug was dirty, there was hair from previous guests in the shower, and traffic noise came through. The TV was good, and there was free WiFi. They also had a hot breakfast, which you don't usually get at a 2-star hotel. For a 2-star place, it was about what I expected.
