Extended Stay America Philadelphia Exton

I did get my refund, but the $100 hold was an unwelcome surprise. The person I spoke to on the phone gave me one price, then at the desk I was told there'd be an extra $100 hold, refunded the next day. The phone number reaches someone who doesn't run the hotel, and the person at the desk said the charge was on top of what I'd been told. I wish they'd explained it beforehand. It's like being quoted $200 by a mechanic, then arriving to find out it's $300 for a night and a half. I wouldn't stay here even if it were the last hotel available.

The woman who checked us in never smiled, and I don't plan to return after how rude she was. Greeting people and making eye contact seem like basic customer service, but she showed none of those skills. On the other hand, the gentleman working the second night and when I checked out was extremely helpful. I think his name might have been luis. The kitchen was completely empty: no dishes, silverware, pots, pans, or anything else, and the burners were badly rusted. I was only there for two nights because I'd lost power at my apartment, but how would anyone cook there if they needed to?

My family and I only came across two nice employees during our stay. I also saw staff let people of color get away with things that white people couldn't, and found them extremely rude and racist. The stove in our room barely worked. My daughter was told she couldn't leave the room in pajamas while we were doing laundry. Police were there constantly, at all hours, and the location was awful, right beside the highway. I overheard someone say their toilet hadn't been fixed for several days. I'd give this a negative rating if I could.

We had to find another hotel after midnight. First, we returned from getting food, switched on the lights, and saw roaches on the walls and floor. The front desk woman immediately gave us another room, but I couldn't even step inside because it smelled like rotting flesh. She came to check it herself and couldn't go in either. She said the previous guests had kept a dog there, and the cleaners had washed the carpets with the doors and windows shut, causing the smell. The woman was very kind and apologetic, even though it wasn't her fault. Still, after all that we left for good and had to find somewhere else. Don't stay here.
