The rooms were clean, comfortable, and nicely equipped with soft sheets, plenty of towels, a fridge, and a microwave. There’s a simple breakfast, maybe cereal, toast, oatmeal, and sometimes fruit. When I got hungry in the middle of the night, I went to the little kitchen and had what might have been the best bowl of Cheerios ever, though I was really hungry. For late-night snacks, Casey’s is a block away and has everything, including alcohol. I had to take my own trash outside and ask for fresh towels, but it wasn’t a big deal. It seemed like one family was caring for the place, and they kept it spotless. I stayed four nights at the Lisbon Inn on Main Street and was pleasantly surprised. Lisbon is a tiny town with one stoplight and not many lodging choices unless you drive 20 minutes to Enderlin. The new owners had only been there a week when I checked in, so things could have gone either way. The host was very friendly. His English was a little rough, but I’m sure it’ll improve as he talks more with locals. His cute little daughter was fascinated by the check-in process. The outside is plain, just a brick building with a banner, but inside there’s cool large-scale art of vintage Fargo signs and lots of thoughtful touches that made it feel like they were trying to improve things from the previous owners. I’ll definitely stay again when I visit my mom soon. I hope they remember me and still have cereal and milk at midnight.

The rooms were clean, breakfast had plenty of choices, and the manager was really kind and accommodating. We had a great stay at the Lisbon Inn!

Parking was free, the rooms were very clean, and they treated my pet politely too. The staff were humble and check-in was easy. They also had healthy food service and 24/7 service.

I showed up without a reservation, and the woman at the inn had to call the new owner, Camika Smith, for my card details. I wasn’t comfortable giving them over the phone while someone was standing right there who could have taken payment. Instead, another person had to drive to the Lisbon Inn. She ran my card, then showed me a first room with lights that didn’t work. The second room had the same lighting problem and toothpaste splattered on the mirror. The two women were talking about how the other rooms were occupied or uncleaned. It was 9 pm. I looked at Google reviews and asked about bed bugs. She said they had sprayed. I left and stayed an hour away, asking for an email confirming I wouldn’t be charged since they couldn’t provide a room. I’ve been charged three times. The woman who drove over seemed embarrassed and was as helpful as she could be, so I’d give service two stars given the circumstances. I’ll stay somewhere else next time.

This is a small town with limited options, so I’m judging it against other hotels in places like this. We’ve stayed a few times, and each time our room was clean and nice for a decent price. The staff is small in number but responsive when we needed something. I feel comfortable staying here and would come back.
