Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Atlanta East - Lithonia by IHG

The front desk young woman was really sweet, but the general manager, who I think was named Gianni, handled my complaint badly. My husband and I had stayed here several times before, but this time there were bedbugs. I posted a video and photos and called the GM. He put me on hold for 20 minutes, never returned to the call, and didn’t call back after I hung up. I tried several times afterward and left a message, but he still hasn’t taken my calls. I also called Corporate, and no one has gotten back to me. He was rude and brushed me off, basically implying I was lying without saying it directly. The way they handled the problem was unprofessional. When guests are paying and raising a concern, it needs to be taken seriously and handled with empathy and a solution. I advise people not to stay there. If this is how Corporate trains staff, that’s a bad look. They need empathy training or seminars. The GM should find work that doesn’t involve dealing with people, maybe with dogs.

Tekyra, the manager, was especially awesome. The whole staff was kind, professional, and ready to help. My room was clean and prepared, and breakfast was sufficient. I’m glad I chose this place.

The staff were very nice and the location was good, but the room was awful. It smelled musty, the curtains were dry-rotted, stained, and wouldn’t close, and the lamp had holes in it. The furniture was old and chipping, and the chair was peeling. I thought something flew past me. We only stayed because we were desperate for a room late at night. I’ll never stay again or recommend it. It was absolutely horrible, and I get the sense Holiday Inn has written this hotel off.

We chose to drive more than five hours home instead of spending the night. While still at the hotel, I called Holiday Inn customer service, and we decided to leave. We’ve stayed at several Holiday Inn Express and Suites properties, but this one was the worst. The room was in terrible condition: one bed hadn’t been fully made, the furniture was damaged or broken, and the curtains were ripped and bleached by the sun. The only bright spot was the evening desk clerk on August 23rd, 2025. She was incredibly sweet, but shouldn’t have to be alone at that hotel. The place needs a complete overhaul.
