Red Roof Inn Atlanta East - Lithonia

We left because of the mold smell, and when my fiance checked the bathroom, mold was covering the ceiling. With small children, including an infant, I requested a refund right away. They offered another room, but I feel they should have given us a suitable one in the first place. I filed a report and got my refund the next day. Management hasn't contacted me.

The hotel looked clean at first, but when I woke up there were roaches in the room. They also charge for the room safe even if you don't use it, and won't remove that charge unless you've read the receipt they ask you to sign. There's apparently a 15% tax on each room too. Not worth the price, and I definitely wouldn't recommend staying here.

The hotel is really nice for the price, and I would stay again. It has a bit of a hood twist. The outside smoking area can turn into a hangout spot, and whether you feel safe there depends on who's hanging around. When I arrived, an older lady with glasses was at the front desk, being rude and unprofessional to some other guests. This place wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either, and I can see why it might lose business.

Edit: I was apparently upgraded on a quiet night. The standard rooms leave a bit to be desired. I'd never stayed at a Red Roof before, and this place completely changed what I expected. It's still a budget stay, but the design was clean and well presented. I'd have no problem coming back, and now I'm curious if all Red Roofs are kept to this standard.
