The morning team made a strong impression. The front desk and breakfast staff were the friendliest we’ve ever met, and Marcus and the team took great care to make guests feel welcome. Breakfast was especially good, fresh, clean, well stocked, and neatly maintained. That hospitality helped redeem a stay that had some real drawbacks. We chose the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Little Rock Downtown because it advertised an indoor pool, but the heater was broken and the water was freezing. There were insects inside the bathroom light fixture, and sirens from downtown kept us from sleeping as soundly as we’d hoped. Parking is limited on the paved lot and the $10 payment is part of the room deposit. Depending on availability, you might end up in a muddy lot. The room was comfortable enough, though it could have been cleaned more thoroughly. With a few improvements, this place could be a top-notch downtown stay.

I thought this was excellent value and would stay again on my next business trip to Little Rock. The staff were very friendly, and breakfast had a good selection, was nicely presented, and came with a very clean dining area. The room was clean and in good shape, with working heat and AC, a comfortable bed, and plenty of pillows and blankets. The bathroom was large, with lots of space by the sink. The hotel is near the Arkansas River and Clinton Library, though there aren’t many dining choices within a safe walking distance. A major highway and an ambulance base nearby made the room noisy at night.

Katey was kind and helpful when I checked in, Marcus made sure breakfast was just right, and Itzel took care of everything I needed at checkout. They were all attentive and accommodating, and I felt looked after. I needed a night’s stop while driving across the states, and this worked perfectly. It’s right by the highway, so it didn’t slow my trip down. I’ll make this my stop again when I drive this way. Thanks to everyone!

We were in town for the Little Rock Marathon, and the hotel gave us a carryout breakfast since we had to leave early for the race. The late checkout on race day was a huge bonus, worth a sixth star. Usually we have to pack up and drive home sweaty, or pay for an extra night we don’t need. This meant we could come back and shower. Thank you!

Breakfast was very good, with veggie and cheese omelettes, sausage, potatoes, biscuits, and gravy. The room was clean and comfortable, there were plenty of towels and hand towels, and the pullout sofa had extra linens. The thermostat on the wall was broken and had a sign saying parts were on order, but we could still set the temperature on the unit. There was a small damaged patch on the wall behind the shower door that might have been early mold. I didn’t see mold, just old damage. There were only three washcloths, and the TV remote stopped working the next morning. We wanted to give the hotel 4.5 stars, but the service and parking brought that down. After our event, Katie?, asked if we wanted a crib for the baby. I said yes, and she promised to bring it right up. After showering and putting the older kids to bed, I went down for Tylenol and checked on it. She’d forgotten, apologized, and said she’d bring it up. My wife and I fell asleep waiting, and the crib never came. Parking is $10 for a very tight, limited concrete lot behind the hotel. With a car seat or small children, it’s inconvenient even if you find a spot. The other option is a rough gravel and dirt lot behind it, sort of fenced but basically open to the public, with a huge pothole at the only entrance. It was dry during our stay, though others said it gets muddy when wet. For paid parking in the middle of Little Rock, gravel and mud shouldn’t be part of the deal. The hotel owns the lot and should pave it. The no-smoking rule also doesn’t seem enforced, since the elevators often smelled like weed. If they paved the rough lot and followed through on promises, I’d happily give the place a 4 despite the smaller issues, and I’d stay again. I’m just disappointed with the service and parking.
