Home2 Suites by Hilton Little Rock West

My wife and I are a retired couple from Texas. We arrived a little before 3 p.m. and were told they had no idea when our room would be ready because many people had checked out that day. Then they checked in four customers ahead of us. When we asked for a manager, we were told there were no managers working at the hotel on weekends. Later, the manager said she’d been on the phone when I asked to speak with one. Hilton customer care told us that because we’d raised our voices and used profanity, we would have to leave or the hotel desk would call law enforcement to remove us. We did neither, and left quietly the same way we’d arrived. We won’t be using Pinxxxx-operated properties in the future. Texans beware!

The hotel and room looked clean, the staff were friendly, breakfast was typical, and parking was easy. There are several chain restaurants within walking distance, and getting here from the highway was simple. We noticed pet odors in the hotel. Both elevators had a rectangle of carpet on the floor that hadn’t been deodorized, and in the room we occasionally caught a whiff of pet accidents, though the bedroom itself was odor free. We often stay in pet-friendly places, and this was the first time I’ve had a problem with pet odors.

The blanket for the pull-out couch had holes in it, and the room was noisy. I usually don't have this kind of stay when we come to this Home 2, so it was disappointing. I was also told they don't give a military discount on that particular King Suite. One front desk woman was very kind and said she'd take my concerns to the GM. When I went to check out, another woman seemed less concerned. It looked like she had reported the noise and blanket to the GM and maybe one of the owners, who might have been on site. But when management or the owner saw me pass the desk several times, they could have spoken to me directly. Sending the desk clerk back out with a message didn't feel like much concern. I don't usually leave bad reviews unless someone has acknowledged the problem. A blanket with holes like something chewed through it is awful. For me, it's the principle. I'm sure there'll be a response now that I'm out of sight and out of mind. Next time I'll know to ask for a top floor.

Breakfast was just okay, and the waffle maker was the one thing keeping it from being a complete fail. The rooms are older and fairly clean, though I did find a couple of long hairs in a towel and the serving hair drawer.
