La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Downtown Conference Center

We've stayed at this location several times over the last few years and have always been pleased. This past weekend we rented three rooms for our employees to get away from work and spend time together. The air conditioner in our room wasn't working, but they quickly moved my family to another room that felt wonderful. The front desk staff were very nice and accommodating, and housekeeping quickly brought us extra supplies. Milo, the ground keeper, was a big help too. The rooms were very clean.

The location is great, and the front desk clerk was kind. I stayed because of her and the location, with McDonald's across the street as a bonus. But the rooms were such a bad experience for our family that we won't return or recommend this hotel. It needs better management, more professional cleaning, and fewer street people hanging around the driveway. It has potential, but we'd only consider it again if the under new management sign goes up and the rooms are professionally cleaned. We visit Little Rock often. We first had to change rooms because the floor was filthy. The second room was better, but the dark carpet still hid the dirt. My girls walked barefoot, then got ready to sit on the bed with filthy feet. I don't think the floors are vacuumed. We put hotel towels around the beds, bought towels and bed covers at Walmart, and spread the covers over the hotel's bedding because we didn't trust the sheets either. After seeing that, I wouldn't eat the free breakfast or ask for extra towels. The pool wasn't working and had green standing water, which looked like it hadn't been used for a while and could breed mosquitoes. The parking area was also too dark.

The front desk ladies were great, but the stay was awful and nothing like I expected. The lobby made a much better impression than the room. There was mildew around the tub, stains in the toilet, dirty sheets, and paint peeling off the walls. I was so upset I couldn't even take pictures. We slept on top of the covers, fully dressed, with my hoodie over my head, then cut the stay short and left early the next morning. The garage at the back had no secure parking and the gate didn't work. Homeless gentlemen were hanging around there too. Even with the hotel in the middle of everything, it wasn't worth staying.

We had three rooms for two nights, and two rooms were dirty on the same night. In the room I stayed in, hair was all over the bathroom, including the tub, walls, and floor. I was moved to another room, which had a clean bathroom, but then I noticed card keys on the desk. The previous guests had wanted a fridge, but there wasn't one, and apparently the room hadn't been checked before I got it. The toilet had been used and the bathroom supplies were gone. They offered a free night for my return trip. I wouldn't have written this if that room had been clean, but it was dirty too. A nasty used bandage was on the floor, both nightstands had oily stuff, and one had a long hair while the other had drink rings and what looked like a booger. One lamp fell apart when I tried to turn it on, and the bedside lamp didn't work right. I'm coming through again in a few days, but I'll stay somewhere else.
