The rooms are beautiful after their upgrades, and the mountain views are wonderful. There aren’t food options at the INN right now because of last year’s hurricane, but the cafe in Little Switzerland is a great alternative. We enjoyed having a cold beer or a bottle of wine from the little Switzerland Cafe out on our Alpine Inn balcony. Give it a try, I don’t think you’ll regret it.

I was working nearby this week and stayed at the Alpine Inn. The sunrise from my window was hard to beat, and the room had so many thoughtful touches. One of the owners, Steve, told me about everything they’ve overcome since Helene and what they’re still dealing with. They’ve done an incredible job. I’ll definitely come back, and highly recommend this little mountain gem.

The owners have been working tirelessly to rebuild after Helene and are ready to welcome people back. I also loved the food from their food truck, especially the breakfast burrito, and the fresh local ice cream was great for dessert. This was one of my favorite places I’ve stayed in the blue ridge mountains, with a peaceful, clean, quaint inn and amazing views.

I loved how quiet and unplugged it felt at the Alpine Inn. We spent time relaxing on the balcony, and it was a beautiful escape after exploring Little Switzerland and hiking the Blue Ridge Parkway. There’s a real sense of community here, too. The innkeepers, Carter & Tom, were so welcoming, and it’s easy to imagine strangers becoming friends over morning coffee. The historic inn has a simple, peaceful feel, with cozy rustic rooms that have what you need. Fresh mountain air, starry nights, and the sun coming up over the Blue Ridge Mountains right outside the window made waking up unforgettable. It felt like stepping back in time in the best way. Highly recommend, and I can’t wait to return.

Helene couldn’t take our majestic mountains, cool evening breeze, spectacular sunsets, or our determination to keep going. We’ve made a lot of progress, but still have a long way ahead, and things in our neck of the woods aren’t the same. Alpine Inn was almost knocked out by the storm, but the owner fought for every bit of progress and refused to give up. One building’s renovation is complete, and another will be removed and replaced. It’s pure Appalachian, with no big chain hotel feel, and it’s always had some of the best views. Come stay a night in this quaint inn and be part of the history. Alpine Inn is building back better and bringing a spirit of Hope to our mountains. Thank you for sticking with it. May God continue to bless the place.
