We were passing through again the following week and decided to stay here a second time. Mr. Rico was at the counter once more and looked after us. On our first stop, he had been pleasant and found us two ground-floor rooms side by side, just as we requested. The rooms were clean and suited our needs well, though they're a bit dated and could use remodeling. The price was fair, and having a restaurant within walking distance was handy. Thanks, Mr. Rico!

The bathroom door was coming apart, and the shower was dirty. The towels seemed new but hadn't been washed, and they left fuzz all over my skin. There was a fishy smell to the water, the sheets smelled sour, and the floors were sticky.

I left without booking. The desk guy asked for my ID, which is normal, then stared at it like he was confused for a few minutes. He asked if I was local. When I said yes, he told me locals had to pay a $300 holding fee. I don't know if that's true, but then he asked strangely whether I needed a receipt. I said not necessarily, just curious, and he said, "now we could make a deal... you wouldn't have to pay the $300 and the room would be cheaper." His smirk and the whole exchange felt like something out of a movie and really weirded us out, especially with my girlfriend there. I firmly believe this man needs to be looked into.

The rooms were quiet, the beds comfortable, and the staff helpful. Breakfast was above average too. I'd stay here again.

The working washer and dryer became a bit of a nuisance because some guests left their laundry sitting for hours, so we had to keep checking for a chance to use them. Still, the staff made our stay easy. They were pleasant and very accommodating at check-in, and extending our stay was smooth. We were moving from the panhandle to Orlando and got stuck in Live Oak longer than planned over the Holiday weekend. The room was clean, spacious, and nice. The bathroom could use visible upgrades, but I have no complaints about it: great water pressure and it gets exceptionally hot, which I appreciate. When I noticed the fridge wasn't working properly, staff promptly replaced it with a working one. Five stars because hospitality comes first here.
