Holiday Inn & Suites Syracuse Airport - Liverpool

The staff were cheerful, welcoming, and helpful every time we interacted with them. When it was time to leave Monday morning, Jeff even helped clear the snow off my car. We chose this hotel on a very snowy Sunday because of the indoor pool and its proximity to the airport, and it didn’t disappoint. I’ll keep using this location whenever I need to stay before a flight out of the Syracuse airport.

The pool and spa were great, and there’s a nice workout center too. My room was very clean and nice, above what I expected. Most of the staff were amazing, though one woman at the front desk seemed a little miserable. My only complaint is the breakfast: I was told it was free when I booked, but it costs $15 per person. I’ll book here next time I’m in the area.

The suite had everything I could need for a weeklong stay, and the lobby’s fresh fruit infused water was lovely. The place seemed very clean. Check-in was a rougher start: the night staff were a little short with me and questioned the card even though I travel with a work company and had an authorization form. In the morning, the staff were absolutely great. I’d locked my keys in the car, and the maintenance guy and front desk worker were understanding and helped me out.

I’d stay here again on my own if I just needed a clean place to sleep, but not if the hotel itself was meant to be part of the trip. We left feeling like we hadn’t had the vacation we came for. We brought the kids for a few days to swim and enjoy the pool, but it was closed for most of our stay, and the hot tub stayed closed the whole time. We kept being told they’d open soon. When I mentioned our disappointment, someone at the front desk offered to put points back on our card, but that never happened. The gym was also shut most of the time. When it was open, buckets were catching water dripping from the ceiling. There were lots of little problems in the room too. A steady leak came through the bathroom light fixture, the TV could only be turned on and off using a hidden button on the set, and my husband had to fix the toilet when it wouldn’t stop filling. One day the lobby coffee machine was out of cocoa, but murky brown water still came through. The building feels tired, and it seemed like another small issue appeared every time we turned around.
